Cell Culture Media

General considerations for the culture of defined glial or neuronal cell types are:

• the choice of culture conditions allowing the isolation and survival of homogeneous brain cell populations;
• desired glial or neuronal cell state (progenitor/proliferative or mature/differentiated);
• desired conditions in vitro (normal or inflammatory, i.e traumatic conditions).

P.Glia develops a constantly growing collection of specialized cell culture media formulated to support the growth, expansion or differentiation of glial cells, neurons, neural progenitors, human neural stem cells and neural cell lines under defined culture conditions. Our cell culture media are chemically-defined and serum-free and have been tested for an optimal outcome in the respective application on neural cells/cell lines derived from mammalian brain tissue (mouse, rat or human, so far tested).
